The Rocks of Hebron begins with a triumphant intro followed by woodwinds and brass trading melodies, giving every student the feeling of having a soli. This work includes a melody and bassline utilizing the first 6 notes.

Hebron Rock Colony is located in the Pisgah National Forest near Boone, North Carolina. The rock formations are composed of massive boulders (some that are as large as houses!) that create natural pools and cascades as water flows over and around them. The area is popular for swimming, wading, and rock hopping.
The music of this work is meant to symbolizing these activities on a beautiful summer day, and the excitement that such activities bring.
