This March was written to be a great intro for young students into the world of marches. The limited range and ample rests allow for the march style to be at the forefront of each student's focus. Advanced and “standard” battery percussion parts have been included to fit the needs of all students.

Fort Blanket March is inspired by the nostalgia of blanket forts. They have the unique ability to transport us back to the innocence of early childhood, where the simple act of draping sheets over furniture ignited boundless imagination. Pretending to be soldiers added an extra layer of excitement, as we embarked on daring missions and defended our makeshift strongholds. These cherished memories of silliness and friendship remind us of a time when the world was full of wonder and adventure. Musically, you will hear the sounds of the initial excitement of constructing the fort, the "battles" that ensue, and even a little ode to the playground taunt "NaNa NaNa Boo Boo" at measure 17.
