Band Announcements - Week of October 29th
Congrats to all who helped make Saturday (and the entire season) a success. This includes uniform helpers, frontline crew, photographers, videographers, poster makers, shoe polishers, and stadium cheer-ers. This was a great run, as far as marching band seasons go.
We are back to 8:00am start time! This also means that students need to enter the building through the main doors, not through the band room.
This Friday’s playoff football game AS OF NOW will be a volunteer band. We can officially have 60 students there but we are looking into the possibility of more being able to go if they pay their own way in. Students can sign up in the hallway and the band will be selected in the next couple days.
Congrats to the following students for making the Nebraska All-State Ensembles:
Nate Ingracia, Trumpet, Jazz Band
Hayli Kent, Clarinet, Concert Band
Ben Steffensmeier, Trumpet, Concert Band
Jace Waybright, Trumpet, Concert Band
Shelby Warrick, Oboe, Concert Band
They will be participating in the NMEA conference Nov. 19-21.
Congrats to the following students for making one of the three Honor Bands at this year’s Doane Fall Festival of Winds:

Merrill Band: Sophia Becker & Abbie Mattern
Tiger Band: Erin Cooney, Nathan Fricke, Austin Oltman, & Ashley Joseph
These students will be participating this Saturday November 1st with a performance that evening.

Students need to have their online assignment turned in by Friday if they want the 10 points. They are to go the band website (www.goband.org) and listen to one of the judge’s comments, then write and one or two sentence response.
Details on Brass Choir and Pep Band will be coming in the next couple of weeks.

The Band Program Students at Lincoln East are very fortunate to have a wide variety of quality music ensemble opportunities. Below is a brief summary of each group and its role in the East Band Program. These ensembles can be subdivided into two major groups: Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular.
Co-curricular ensembles meet during the school day and you must be enrolled through Lincoln East to participate. You receive a grade for these ensembles and therefore must adhere to the grading requirements set forth by each class.
Extra-Curricular ensembles are not classes. They typically meet outside the school day and in no way are required to be in Band at East. They are meant to be extra opportunities that are open to East Band students.
