Our LPS Large Ensemble Contest is Monday, April 14th at Northeast High School.

• Please see the District Music Contest Info Sheet (view/print) for these details and more.
• Important items:

o Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble members will furnish their own transportation to and from the event.
o Symphonic Band and Concert Band members will either need to hit a drive-thru on the way there or eat from the fully stocked concession stands at Northeast. You will not be at East for 5th period so you can not get a school lunch that day.

The East Band Electronics Recycling Event is this Saturday from 9:00-12noon at East. All worker spots are filled but you may help out by rounding up old electronics and bringing them.

Leadership Applications are due April 17th.

Drum Major clinics will be held April 16th, 17th, 22nd, and tryouts held on the 23rd.

Jazz Café is Monday, April 28th at 7:00pm in the commons. All three groups will be performing that evening.

Drumline and Guard auditions/clinics are the week of May 5th. Details are on the website and posted in the hallway. Drumline packets will be available soon.

The Band Program
Students at Lincoln East are very fortunate to have a wide variety of quality music ensemble opportunities. Below is a brief summary of each group and its role in the East Band Program. These ensembles can be subdivided into two major groups: Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular.

Co-curricular ensembles meet during the school day and you must be enrolled through Lincoln East to participate. You receive a grade for these ensembles and therefore must adhere to the grading requirements set forth by each class.

Extra-Curricular ensembles are not classes. They typically meet outside the school day and in no way are required to be in Band at East. They are meant to be extra opportunities that are open to East Band students.
