Band Announcements - Week of August 25th
Please make sure our football game performances and Band competitions are on your calendar. (Full schedule available at www.goband.org) One competition to note is the October 11th date. That is a trip down to Kansas City but it also falls on Homecoming. We have requested the earliest time available and should be back in the afternoon. Also, that is fall break weekend so please make travel arrangements around the competition.
Foe example, if you’d like to make a long weekend and head to Worlds of Fun or something, you may sign out your son or daughter after the competition and then they may go with you. This is the case for any competition.
Please consider contributing to the Booster organization. Even if it is $20 here and $20 there, every bit helps. We are operating on a minimal budget and count on that parent contribution to pay for fuel, sound equipment, clinicians, music licensure, copyright, instrument replacement, and other unforeseen expenses.
Auditions for cast in this year’s musical, “Fiddler on the Roof,” will take place on Monday, August 25th, Tuesday, August 26th, and call-backs on Wednesday, August 27th. Sign ups are in the music hallway.
All Leadership will perform on 107.3 FM on Friday, September 19th. More details as that date nears.
Our first football game (Sept. 5th) will tentatively be in our “Hot” uniform, which consists of the new Band Polo and the new Band Shorts.

The Band Program Students at Lincoln East are very fortunate to have a wide variety of quality music ensemble opportunities. Below is a brief summary of each group and its role in the East Band Program. These ensembles can be subdivided into two major groups: Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular.
Co-curricular ensembles meet during the school day and you must be enrolled through Lincoln East to participate. You receive a grade for these ensembles and therefore must adhere to the grading requirements set forth by each class.
Extra-Curricular ensembles are not classes. They typically meet outside the school day and in no way are required to be in Band at East. They are meant to be extra opportunities that are open to East Band students.
